This has been a fun experience. I learned a lot about taking good photos. When I first walked in to class, I didn't have any photo knowledge whatsoever. I didn't know that shutter speed mattered, and I had no idea what aperture was. When I was first given a camera and told to take pictures, I walked around the school taking snapshots of random things. The first week, I learned about composition. This was something that I never really thought about, but it made total sense to me. I realized I had to take time to set the shot up right, so that the picture would turn out good. This was a skill I used for every photo I turned in. I also learned about exposure. This was tricky for me, because the camera I brought from home was harder to adjust the shutter speed and aperture. As a result, many of my photos ended up frustratingly dark. However, I did manage to get a few really neat shots where the exposure and composition were perfect. Another thing I learned about was photoshop. I had never used photoshop before this class, so I had no idea how to do anything. I remember on the first photoshop assignment, we had to make pop art. At first, I struggled with it, but after a while, I got the hang of it. throughout the weeks of photoshop I ended up making some really cool pictures, which I am proud of. Below is my first photoshop, and then my best photoshop. All in all, I really enjoyed this class. There were some awesome assignments (To me, my favorite was macro), and some not-so-awesome assignments (I wasn't the biggest fan of food). I thought all of the photoshop assignments were loads of fun, in particular the school context and the open tutorials. Digital photography I was awesome, and I'm taking digital photography II in my third trimester this year. I'm looking forward to it. The last pictures I will post are below; they are a comparison from my first photo to my last.
